Who we are

askMID Insurance Check operates the website askmidinsuranceuk.com. For any privacy question or request, contact help@askmidinsuranceuk.com.

Information we process

Vehicle registration numbers. When you use the vehicle check, the registration you enter is sent to our server and passed to the official DVSA and DVLA data services solely to retrieve the information you requested. We use it only to answer that request and do not use it to identify you.

Technical log data. Like most websites, our hosting provider and content delivery network may automatically record technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type and the time of a request. This supports security, abuse prevention and reliability. Our rate limiting uses IP address to prevent automated misuse of the check.

Correspondence. If you email us, we hold your message and address for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry.

What we do not collect

We do not require an account, and we do not ask for your name, address or payment details to use the vehicle check. We do not collect or store any vehicle insurance data. When you follow a link to an official Motor Insurers' Bureau service, anything you enter there is governed by that organisation's own privacy terms, not ours.

Cookies and analytics

Update this section to reflect your live configuration before publishing. If you add analytics, advertising or embedded third-party content, list them here and provide a cookie consent mechanism where required by UK law.

Third-party services

To operate this site we rely on our hosting provider, a content delivery network, and the official DVSA and DVLA data services. Insurance checks are completed on Motor Insurers' Bureau services. Each of these organisations processes data under its own terms.

Retention

Technical logs are retained only as long as needed for security and operational purposes. Email correspondence is retained for as long as necessary to handle your enquiry and any follow-up.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have rights in relation to personal data held about you, including rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction and objection. To exercise any of these, email help@askmidinsuranceuk.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Children

This site is intended for adult drivers and vehicle keepers and is not directed at children.
