Insurance data
We do not hold, display, store or sell any vehicle insurance status. Insurance records are held on the Motor Insurance Database, access to which is restricted by law. Every insurance check referenced on this site is completed on the official Motor Insurers' Bureau services, which we link to directly. Whether a vehicle is insured can only be confirmed through those official services, and any result you obtain there is provided by them, not by us.
Vehicle data
MOT test history is supplied by DVSA and vehicle registration details by DVLA, under the Open Government Licence. This data may be subject to delay, omission or error at source. A missing MOT record does not necessarily mean a vehicle is untested — it may be new, exempt, or tested outside the covered period. VED tax band letters shown on this site are derived from recorded CO₂ emissions; actual tax amounts change annually and must be confirmed on gov.uk.
Mileage and condition indicators
Mileage analysis and any rollback indication are calculated solely from odometer readings recorded at MOT tests. They are an aid to investigation, not proof. An apparent discrepancy may have an innocent explanation, and the absence of a discrepancy does not guarantee a vehicle's history is sound. Always inspect a vehicle and obtain appropriate professional checks before purchase.
